Oregon Park East Opens With Community Celebration

OREGON — The Oregon Park District is hosting a grand opening celebration for Oregon Park East today beginning at 4:30 p.m. The park district is marking completion of a $1.2 million renovation project that includes a new playground and an ADA accessible trail connection. Work on the project began last spring and included removing some trees due to disease or damage. The project also includes planting 40 new trees, 24 shrubs, and 60 perennial plants to enhance the park landscape. Funding includes $600,000 from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
