ROCHELLE – Construction on a new pocket park in downtown Rochelle will begin today at 517 W. 4th Avenue, weather permitting, at the former site of a condemned building. Crews will use parking spaces on 4th Avenue and possibly the lot south of the museum during the project. The Rochelle City Council approved a $286,682 contract with DPI Construction, Inc. of Pecatonica, which includes $26,000 for lighting upgrades. The work will be paid for through the Downtown TIF district.
