DeKalb Human Relations Commission Changes Tabled

DEKALB — The DeKalb City Council tabled proposed changes last week to the Human Relations Commission after Mayor Cohen Barnes requested an amendment to remove that section. Barnes said the decision followed discussions with the public, council members and partner organizations, and that more work is needed to refine the commission’s future structure. By striking the section, the Human Relations Commission will remain in its current form while discussions continue. The amended ordinance, excluding the HRC changes, was approved.
