SYCAMORE — Give DeKalb County will hold its in person Donation Drop Off Event May 7 at the DeKalb County Community Foundation in Sycamore from 8 am to 1 pm, with donors able to bring completed forms and checks while viewing real time giving updates. Donations will also be accepted after 1 pm until 5 pm or placed in an exterior drop box, with all gifts boosted through a Bonus Pool supported by community partners.
Ben Bingle, director of the DeKalb County Nonprofit Partnership, said, “Over 3,000 donors made 9,385 gifts last year, and so if we can approach that 3,000 number of donors this year, we’re going to be over the moon. We’ve only done that two other times, so that’s a big number for us, and to be close to 10,000 gifts is unbelievable.”
Organizers said the event is part of a broader effort to connect donors with local nonprofits and increase overall community giving.
