ROCHELLE – The Rochelle Police Department announced the death of retired K9 Axel on Monday, marking the end of a career that included work in patrol, narcotics investigations, school safety checks, and search and recovery. Axel, who served alongside Sgt. Ryan Beery, was known for his dedication, skill, and service to the community.
