DIXON — The community is invited to gather April 10th at noon on the Old Lee County Courthouse lawn in Dixon for the Hands Around the Courthouse event to raise awareness for child abuse prevention. The event, hosted by Shining Star Children’s Advocacy Center and CASA 15th District, will feature guest speakers. Shining Star CAC Executive Director Jessica Cash said the event is part of April’s Child Abuse Awareness Month and seeks to encourage community support for protecting children.
“We will also have Chief Deputy at the Dixon Police Department, Aaron Simonton speaking, myself, Trish Howard, the Director of CASA, and then also Judge Klahn will be speaking,” she said.
