Lee County Man Arrested On Attempted Murder Charge After Domestic Violence Investigation

DIXON — A 42-year-old Dixon man was arrested following a domestic violence investigation in rural Lee County, authorities said. Deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said the incident occurred March 20 at a residence on Sterling Road involving Christopher L. Lindsley. Following the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued March 22nd. Around 3 a.m. March 23, Dixon police located Lindsley riding a bicycle on the Peoria Bridge and attempted a stop before he fled. He was taken into custody without incident near First Street and Highland Avenue. Lindsley was transported to the Lee County Jail and charged with attempted first degree murder, aggravated domestic battery involving strangulation, aggravated domestic battery causing great bodily harm, and possession of methamphetamine. He remains in custody pending a court appearance.
