CHICAGO — Illinois Student Assistance Commission and Kaplan say Illinois will continue its free test preparation program for college and professional exams through the end of the academic year, while JB Pritzker has proposed funding to extend the program through June 2027 in the fiscal year 2027 budget. The state has invested $9.9 million in the program since it launched 13 months ago. More than 12,000 students have registered for the free courses, which officials say has saved students more than $30 million. The program offers test preparation for graduate admissions and professional licensing exams to students at Illinois public universities and several community colleges.
