SOMONAUK — A 17-year-old Kasbeer driver was cited after a two vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Chicago Road and Illinois Route 23, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities said the driver was traveling west on Chicago Road and failed to yield at the stop sign at Route 23, where the vehicle was struck by a northbound vehicle driven by a 46 year old Berwyn man. The driver and a passenger in the Kasbeer vehicle were taken to Northwestern Medicine Valley West Hospital in Sandwich by Somonauk and Waterman fire personnel with minor injuries. The other driver was not injured. Both vehicles were towed from the scene due to damage. The Kasbeer driver was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign.
