ComEd Executive Gets Probation In Bribery Case Tied To Mike Madigan

CHICAGO —  A former ComEd executive is receiving probation after pleading guilty to a corruption charge.  Fidel Marquez was sentenced last week for his role in a bribery scheme meant to influence former Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan.  Marquez was among those implicated when federal prosecutors charged the electric utility company with sending one-point-three-million-dollars to Madigan’s associates in hopes of landing his support for key legislation.  Marquez agreed to cooperate with federal prosecutors in order to avoid prison time.
