Underwood Seeks Accounting of Operation Midway Blitz

WASHINGTON – Representative Lauren Underwood sent letters to the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection requesting detailed information on Operation Midway Blitz. The letters seek records on costs, staffing, use of federal and local resources, legal expenses, and the impact of the operations on Illinois communities. Underwood and the Illinois delegation said previous requests for briefings and facility access were denied or delayed, raising concerns about transparency, constitutional violations, and the stewardship of taxpayer funds.
