LEAF RIVER — The Rock River Valley Blood Center will host a blood drive on Monday, Feb. 16, from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Leaf River United Methodist Church, 104 E. Third St., Leaf River, IL 61047. RRVBC supplies the total blood needs for 14 area hospitals and relies on community members to keep supplies ready for patient care. Maggie Anderson, Donor Recruiter with the Rock River Valley Blood Center, said that blood is a valuable commodity.
“Because blood cannot be manufactured, donations from volunteer donors are the only source for maintaining the regional blood supply,” she said.
Donors should bring a photo ID; appointments are suggested but not required.
