DEKALB — The DeKalb City Council approved a five-year retainer agreement with Crawford, Murphy & Tilly and McClure last week to provide engineering and consulting services at DeKalb Taylor Municipal Airport. The agreement ensures compliance with federal and state requirements for airports receiving funding, which require review and selection of engineering consultants every five years. Both firms were chosen following a formal qualifications process and review by the Airport Advisory Board. The retainer provides expertise and continuity for future projects, with costs for specific work negotiated individually under FAA and IDOT guidelines.
