Cubs Beat the Pirates 3-2, White Sox Lose to Houston 4-3

Home runs by Pete Crow-Armstrong and Seiya Suzuki on Thursday night gave the Cubs a 3-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates in game one of a 4-game series.

Both teams had only 4 hits in the game.

Jameson Taillon picked up his 7th win of the season for Chicago pitching 6 1/3 innings and having 7 strikeouts.

Ryan Pressly got his 5th save pitching the 9th inning.

Pirates scored both of their runs in the 7th inning.

Game 2 in the series is Friday afternoon at Wrigley Field.

The Houston Astros won the rubber game of their 3-game series with the Chicago White Sox on Thursday night by the final score of 4-3.
Houston was led by isaac Paredes with a solo home run and a 2-run double from Jose Altuve.

Framber Valdez picked up the win as he struck out 12 hitters over 5 innings of word.

Josh Hader got his 18th save for the season pitching the 9th inning.

Davis Martin took the loss for the White Sox. Mike Tauchman had a solo home run in the 9th inning.

Chicago will be in Texas Friday night opening up a 3-game series with the Rangers.
