DeKalb to Conduct Citywide Fire Hydrant Maintenance Through September

DEKALB – DeKalb will begin citywide fire hydrant maintenance and flushing in June, with work expected to finish by the end of September. Crews from the DeKalb Fire Department and Public Works Utility Division will inspect hydrants in local neighborhoods, removing caps to check gaskets and clean corrosion from brass rings. A low-flow flush will also be performed on each hydrant. If repairs are needed, Utility Division workers will return to complete the work.
