Illinois State Police Unveil New High-Tech Command Vehicle

SPRINGFIELD — The Illinois State Police have received a new 2025 Freightliner command vehicle from the U.S. Department of Energy, designed to improve emergency coordination and provide on-site support during major incidents. Replacing an 18-year-old unit, the vehicle features high-definition cameras, real-time data access, advanced communication tools, and a large mobile conference room. It will serve as a central operations hub during disasters, public events, and search-and-rescue missions, and will also be used for community outreach, safety demonstrations, and hazardous materials training.
