STERLING — An investigation into a Christmas Day traffic accident involving a Sterling Police Department squad car is ongoing. The crash happened at the intersection of Route 40 and East 3rd Street. Both vehicles’ occupants were transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The Illinois State Police are handling the investigation.
