DIXON – K9 Dax of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office in Illinois will soon receive a protective vest, thanks to a donation from the non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. The vest, which will be embroidered with the message “This gift of protection provided by Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.,” is expected to arrive within ten weeks. Vested Interest in K9s, established in 2009, has provided over 6,000 protective vests to law enforcement dogs across the U.S. The organization works to equip K9s with bullet and stab protection to ensure their safety in the field.
