DeKalb Council Approves 2026 Municipal Budget

DEKALB — The DeKalb City Council approved the city’s Fiscal Year 2026 budget Monday, covering January 1 through December 31. The budget lays out spending for city departments, utilities, and pension and insurance funds, and includes the property tax levy recommended by the Finance Advisory Committee. The process began in August with a joint council and committee meeting and included department-level reviews in October and November. Council members voted unanimously to approve the budget and the non-bargaining unit pay plan.
