BISHOP HILL — Musician Mike Anderson, known as “The Dulcimer Guy,” will lead a free mountain dulcimer workshop at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Dairy Building in Bishop Hill. Anderson, a nationally recognized performer with six instrumental recordings, has appeared at venues ranging from the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum to festivals across the South.
The workshop will cover both beginner and advanced dulcimer techniques, including strumming, reading tablature, chording, and adding stylistic “tricks.” Participants are encouraged to bring their own instruments, though a few dulcimers will be available to use. No reservations are required.
The event is sponsored by the Bishop Hill Heritage Association, Geneseo Foundation, Galesburg Community Foundation, and the Illinois Arts Council. For more information, contact bhha@mymctc.net or call 309-927-3899.
