Janessa Neal Sworn In As Acting Mayor of Rockford

ROCKFORD —  Janessa Neal is set to become acting mayor of Rockford.  The Seventh Ward Alderwoman was sworn in to the role during Monday night’s City Council meeting.  She takes over for former Mayor Tom McNamara, who will step down at the end of the month to become the Chief Executive Officer of the Illinois Municipal League.  Neal’s time as mayor begins on September 1st until voters elect a new one next April.
