OREGON — The Ogle County Zoning Board of Appeals recommended denying a special use permit for Marion Township Solar 2, LLC, which sought to build a 4.99 MW commercial solar facility on 33 acres along the 8000 block of N. Kishwaukee Road. The board found the project could be unreasonably detrimental to nearby property values and the public welfare, failing to meet all zoning standards, though it met criteria for site layout, parking, utilities, and visual compatibility. The recommendation was made after a September 25 public hearing, with a 3-2 vote in favor of denial. The full Ogle County Board voted unanimously to deny the permit on Tuesday night.
