ROCKFORD — The Rock River Valley Blood Center partnered with Lyfe Dispensary for its fall Bleed for Weed blood drive Monday at the Roscoe Community Center. The event rewarded donors 21 and older with a voucher for a free edible or cannabis flower and a commemorative t-shirt. It marked the second year of collaboration between the two organizations to encourage blood donation. Organizers said cannabis use does not affect eligibility as long as donors are not impaired during donation.
