Man Injured After Falling From Train in Rochelle

ROCHELLE — A man was seriously injured Wednesday night after falling while allegedly trying to climb over a train at the Lincoln Highway railroad crossing, police said. Rochelle police and fire responded around 9:10 p.m. and found the man unconscious with a head injury next to the tracks. He was taken to Rochelle Hospital and later flown to Rockford, where he was reported in stable condition. Preliminary findings indicate the train was stopped or moving slowly when the man fell. Rochelle police and Union Pacific police are investigating and ask anyone with information to contact the department
