In girls volleyball, Kaneland edged Sycamore 2-1, Oregon swept North Boone 2-0, and Dixon topped Rockford Lutheran 2-0. Newark, Eastland, Hinckley-Big Rock, Earlville and Somonauk also earned wins. Rochelle is back on the court Thursday at LaSalle-Peru.
Byron fell 3-0 to Serena in boys soccer Tuesday, while Somonauk blanked Stillman Valley 5-0. DeKalb dropped a 4-1 match to Neuqua Valley, and Mendota rolled past Orion 5-0. Rochelle, now 8-9-1, faces Kaneland (6-11) this afternoon at 4:30.
