STILLMAN VALLEY — Stillman Valley High School was placed on a soft lockdown Thursday morning after the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office was called to assist with an uncooperative student in the office. The student was safely detained without incident, and the lockdown was lifted shortly after. The Byron Police Department and the Stillman Fire Protection District assisted the sheriff’s office. Sheriff Brian VanVickle said the response showed how cooperation and planning between agencies help ensure safe and timely resolutions to potential school safety concerns.
