OREGON — The Oregon City Council Tuesday reviewed upcoming community events and board initiatives. The Tree Board is creating a process to inspect public trees for safety and disease. Public Works is preparing for Autumn On Parade and has refreshed downtown flower displays and welcome signs. Council members also highlighted the 10th annual TOSOC Bicycle Ride on September 27, which expects about 350 participants and raises roughly $12,000 for the Village of Progress. Riders can choose 10-, 32-, or 62-mile routes along quiet Northern Illinois roads with scenic views of the Rock River, Nachusa Grasslands, Lowden-Miller State Park, wildlife, and historic sites including John Deere and the Oregon Train Depot.
