CHERRY VALLEY — The Illinois Department of Transportation will open a new ramp from southbound Interstate 39 to U.S. 20 and Harrison Avenue today as part of a $44.2 million interchange reconstruction tied to the Rebuild Illinois program. Traffic exiting I-39 will shift onto the new pavement beginning today and into early Wednesday, while other ramps and U.S. 20 traffic remain unchanged. The larger $302 million project to improve I-39 between U.S. 20 and Blackhawk Road is expected to wrap up later this year, with final work scheduled for spring 2026. Motorists are advised to expect delays and use caution in the work zone.
