SPRINGFIELD — Illinois farmers report significant progress in corn and soybean development as the 2025 harvest season advances, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. Corn denting reached 93 percent in the state, with 50 percent of the crop mature and five percent harvested, while soybean leaf drop reached 60 percent with three percent of the crop harvested. Crop conditions show corn rated 54 percent good to excellent and soybeans rated 50 percent good to excellent.
