Rochelle Proclaims Constitution Week September 17 to 23

ROCHELLE — The City of Rochelle and Mayor John Bearrows have proclaimed September 17th through 23rd as Constitution Week, marking the 238th anniversary of the United States Constitution. The proclamation recognizes the Constitution as the guardian of American liberties and encourages citizens to reaffirm the principles of limited government and the freedoms established by the Framers in 1787.

To commemorate Constitution Week, the Daughters of the American Revolution will be organizing educational activities, including a student poster contest and word find challenges distributed to schools and the public library.Sarah Flanagan also said that they encourage everyone to participate in Bells Across America 

“The DAR encourages participants to ring bells on Constitution Day, September 17th at 4 p.m. The event symbolizes the ringing of bells in Philadelphia after the Constitution was signed in 1787,” she said.
