SPRINGFIELD – Illinois corn and soybeans are progressing near or ahead of recent averages, according to the latest USDA crop report. Corn in Illinois reached 92% dough, 59% dented, and 3% mature, with overall condition rated 61% good to excellent. Soybeans reached 91% setting pods and 2% dropping leaves, with 58% rated good to excellent. Topsoil moisture was reported 43% short to very short, while subsoil moisture was 42% short to very short.
