ROCHELLE — The Rochelle City Council approved a Strategic Communications Plan last week, aimed at improving how the city shares information with residents and employees. The plan, developed through the TCU Certified Public Communicator Program, includes updates to newsletters, social media, text alerts, mailings and public education sessions branded as “RochelleU.” It also calls for better internal communication, staff recognition, and annual crisis drills. Priorities include bilingual outreach, transparency on city projects and building stronger partnerships, while challenges such as cybersecurity, misinformation and reaching residents without digital access were also noted.
