GENOA – A 63-year-old Genoa woman and her male passenger were injured Wednesday evening in a two-vehicle crash on Cherry Valley Road near Bucks Road, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office said. Deputies said the woman was traveling eastbound when she lost control of her passenger vehicle for unknown reasons, striking a westbound SUV before hitting a fence and tree. She was airlifted to OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, and her passenger was taken to Javon Bea Hospital. A 25-year-old Genoa woman driving the other SUV was not injured. The crash remains under investigation.
