Judge Rules In Favor Of Rockford In Mercyhealth Flooding Lawsuit

ROCKFORD —  A judge is ruling in favor of the City of Rockford in a Mercyhealth flooding lawsuit.  Mercy was seeking more than 29-million-dollars to pay for flooding damage to its Rockton Avenue campus in 2018.  Two lawsuits brought by Javon Bea Hospital and Federal Insurance Company claimed the city failed to install adequate drainage for the hospital.  The suit said in June 2018, waters backed up and ran toward the hospital, resulting in significant damage.
