Local Police Join Statewide Labor Day Traffic Safety Crackdown

ROCHELLE – Local law enforcement will join more than 200 agencies across Illinois in a Labor Day traffic safety campaign running from Aug. 15 through the early morning of Sept. 2, focusing on impaired, distracted, and unsafe driving. Officers will increase patrols to stop drivers impaired by alcohol, cannabis, or other drugs, enforce seat belt use for all passengers, and address other hazardous behaviors. The enforcement effort is part of a statewide program supported by the Illinois Department of Transportation using federal highway safety funds.
