DEKALB — The DeKalb City Council has approved a $19,665 grant to support Big O’s Barbeque, a new family-owned take-out restaurant located at 930 Pappas Drive in the Annie Glidden North neighborhood. The funding comes from the city’s Fund 400 Architectural Improvement Program and will help offset costs related to remodeling the kitchen and preparing the space. Owned by Alando and Valerie Farmer, the restaurant is already open and contributing to the community through events such as backpack giveaways. The grant is part of the city’s effort to assist businesses outside its tax increment financing districts.
