CHICAGO — The Illinois Gaming Board has adopted expanded rules for casino, video gaming, and sports wagering advertisements, including a ban on advertising on college campuses and stricter safeguards to protect minors and problem gamblers. The updated regulations require operators to keep records of all marketing materials, allow patrons to opt out of promotional content, and include responsible gambling messages in all advertising. The rules also prohibit using college imagery or venues and prevent commission-based third-party advertising agreements. The changes, which took effect August 1 following legislative approval, apply to all licensed gambling sectors in the state.
