Rochelle Community Hospital Earns Rural Stroke Care Award

ROCHELLE — Rochelle Community Hospital has received the American Heart Association’s bronze Stroke Rural Recognition Award for its work providing stroke care in a rural community. The award recognizes hospitals that meet guidelines for acute stroke care, including timely treatment, patient assessments, brain imaging, emergency medical services communication and stroke consultations. Hospital officials said the recognition reflects the work of the emergency services team in improving outcomes for local stroke patients. It is the highest level the hospital could receive during its first application cycle for the award.
