34th Anniversary Of Missing Iowa College Student Tammy Zywicki

GRINNELL, IA  —  It has been 34 years since Tammy Zywicki was last seen alive and investigators say they have a new lead.  The 21-year-old Zywicki was driving from the Chicago area back to central Iowa for college when she disappeared.  Her car was found abandoned in LaSalle County and Zywicki was found stabbed to death nine days later in Missouri.  Investigators say they’re looking for information about Theresa Belenske, who also went by Teri and was a known hitchhiker at the time of Zywicki’s death.  They believe she could have been traveling with an unidentified truck driver spotted near Zywicki’s car.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Illinois State Police or the FBI.
