15-Year-Old Arrested for DUI

BYRON – A 15-year-old is facing a DUI charge and three other teens were cited for consumption of alcohol after a traffic stop on Saturday evening. The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office say they stopped a vehicle for allegedly speeding around 7 PM in the 5000 block of N. IL Rt. 2. Following an investigation, a 15-year-old male from Byron was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without a valid license. He was also cited for speeding and having a blood alcohol content over .08. Four other juveniles, including a 14-year-old female from Oregon, a 16-year-old female from Byron, and a 17-year-old male from Byron, were cited for illegal alcohol consumption under the age of 21. All were released to their parents or guardians and given court dates.
