U of I System President Tim Killeen To Retire

CHAMPAIGN – University of Illinois System President Tim Killeen is stepping down next year.  Killeen informed the Board of Trustees that he will retire at the end of his current contract on June 30th, 2027.  He says this is the right moment to begin preparing for the next era of U of I System leadership.  During his tenure, enrollment has grown to record levels, reaching more 101,000 students across three universities in the fall of 2025.  The search for the 21st president will begin in the coming weeks.
