Tom & Jerry’s Plans Temporary Relocation, Rebuild After Fire

SYCAMORE — Tom and Jerry’s is planning a temporary relocation and rebuilding efforts after an electrical fire on Jan. 31 left the longtime restaurant’s building at 1670 DeKalb Ave. a total loss, according to owners. The business has signed a lease for a temporary location at 265 W. Peace Road, the former Eggsclusive Cafe, and is working to reopen by early March while also moving forward with plans to demolish and rebuild at its original site. Owners said they have been overwhelmed by community support as recovery efforts continue.
