ROCKFORD — A 47-year-old Rockford man is going to prison for illegally possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. Timothy Gentry was sentenced to 15-years after pleading guilty. Prosecutors say Gentry admitted in a plea agreement that on July 6th, 2023, he sold a loaded handgun to a man in Rockford. However, the buyer was cooperating with law enforcement. Gentry was previously convicted of multiple violent felonies in state courts.
