Rockford Man Pleads Guilty to Post Office Robbery

ROCKFORD – A 59-year-old Rockford man has pleaded guilty in federal court to robbing a U.S. Post Office last year. In May of 2025, Anthony Johnson walked about a block from his home to the Post Office, demanded cash from the clerk, and stole roughly $219 before returning home. Johnson faces up to ten years in federal prison, with sentencing scheduled for this July.
