ROCHELLE – Rochelle Township High School (RTHS) will administer the ACT exam online on Tuesday, with all Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors required to take either the ACT or PreACT. The exam is a graduation requirement for Illinois students, which switched from the SAT in 2024. Juniors will not take the Illinois Science Assessment (ISA) this spring, as the ACT includes a science component. Principal Dr. Chris Lewis said it is the first year RTHS will use the ACT, after students completed a practice test in September. Teachers used the October institute day to analyze the data and create action plans for the second semester. Additionally, RTHS is offered four ACT prep classes to help students prepare. Seniors will not have class on exam day.
