Rochelle Speech Team Members Compete at IHSA State Meet in Peoria

PEORIA — Members of the Rochelle Township High School speech team are competing in the 2026 IHSA State Speech Competition at the Peoria Civic Center starting today. Members qualified after a strong showing at the DeKalb Regional on February 7th, where Brooklyn Hull and Derek Swartz won first in Dramatic Duet Acting, Derek Swartz took first in Humorous Interpretation, and Rochelle scored 58 points to win the event overall. Competing for Rochelle at the state meet are Abby Losoya in Poetry Reading, Brooklyn Hull and Derek Swartz in Dramatic Duet Acting, and Swartz alone in Humorous Interpretation.
