ROCHELLE — The Rochelle City Council will meet Monday night at 6:30 to discuss the proposed Project Crossroads data center on a 124-acre site south of I-88. The 300,000-square-foot project would use up to 50 megawatts of power with a closed-loop water cooling system. It would create 25 to 35 permanent jobs and 500 to 800 temporary construction jobs. The developer would fund all infrastructure improvements, and the project is expected to generate $30 to $50 million in utility revenue and $1.5 million in property taxes. No action will be taken at the meeting, which will stream on Facebook and YouTube.
