ROCHELLE — The Rochelle City Council on Monday approved a resolution waiving competitive bidding requirements and authorizing an aviation liability policy for the Rochelle Municipal Airport through Chubb Insurance. The policy provides aircraft hangar and aviation liability coverage through April of 2029. City officials said the coverage protects against third party bodily injury and property damage from aircraft operations and includes a three year term that locks in premium costs through 2029. The city will pay $29,898 for the policy, which reflects a 7.5% increase from the previous renewal.
