SPRINGFIELD – Gov. J.B. Pritzker has indicated that he might not support a federal tax credit scholarship program that could benefit public, private and homeschool families in Illinois. The Chicago Tribune reports the governor sent a text to Illinois Comptroller Susana Mendoza last month after she wrote a Tribune opinion piece urging the state to join the federal program. In the text, the governor warned Mendoza that the tax incentives could support schools that “teach values that are racist or anti-semitic or Anti-American.”
