POPLAR GROVE — Authorities are investigating a plane crash Saturday in Poplar Grove. The Boone County 911 center received a call around 4 p.m. about a single engine plane that crashed into a residential area. Crews reported damage to a house and a gas leak. Nearby residents were evacuated as first responders worked with Nicor to secure the leak. Officials said one person was on the plane and their condition has not been released. The NTSB will lead the investigation into the cause of the crash.
